Algae...Where does it end?

My tank has been up for a little over 4 months now. First I had brown algea, then a light green, which both went away, and now some red hair like algae in my tank. The red algae isnt as bad as the previous kinds were. Is thins part of the new tank cycle still, or do i need a better light fixture/filteration? Right now I just have a penguin bio wheel filter, a powerhead, and a 50/50 reef sun fixture for the aquarium. I am hoping to add some polyps/zoos this week. What should I do or will it go away? I had the red algea for a while and it seemed to just go away....just be glad your not dealing with the masive green hair algea explosion that I am....
