I'm new to saltwater. I set up a 55 gal, had it running for about 6 weeks now. I have a dark brown layer growing mostly on top of the rocks and also on the glass. Is it Diatoms? Is it something else? Will it go away on its own? How long does it usually last? I started with 55lbs of dry rock and 3lbs of live rock. I'm showing 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and almost 0 nitrates. I get water from my LFS which I assume is RO/DI. I attached a pic. Just want to know if its just a natural part of tank maturation of if its not supposed to be there. Thanks
