Hi,

I want to start another aquarium with a 5% ammonia dilute.
However it also contains mica (a pearly looking mineral - commonly used in eyeshadow). Would this be bad?

Advice appreciated.

Liz.

One fresh dead shrimp from the market ought to do it.... I say no on the ammonia, unless it is 100% pure and no additives...

I'll second timbo (again today ) ) There's no need for additives when you can get all the biological action you need from one shrimp from your grocery store. Especialy when your additives have strange chemicals that may have an unknown affect on your system.

Prawns

im using 2 live brown tiger prawns saved from my local chinese restaurant. anyone know what to feed them? iive tried turtle food,
zuccini and even some ham.

cheers

To get the most out of the fishless cycle, the shrimp should be dead and uncooked. The tiger prawn should eat whatever you put in the tank ;) Try fishfood ;) flakes or frozen.
