hi i recently purchased two haiten tip anemones and put them into my tank. i have two question one is, could this have triggered a sudden rise in my nitrates? my nitrate rose to 20 after putting in the anemones, is it the anemones or could it have been somethign else. second. the first night the anemones spent in my tank one of them completely withdrew its tentacles. one it finally came out again there were like twice as much tentacle thingies, what the **** happened?! thank you ^_^

Doubtful, inverts tend to be very light on the bioload, the only way I can see this happening would be iff it had eaten a very large meal prior to purchase and when you got it in your tank it released a very large bolus.

More than likely it was not completely open when you saw it at the LFS.
