My LFS has clear-for-life activated carbon for 60 bucks for a 5 gal, 21 lb bucket of activated carbon. I am thinking of purchasing this to save money in the future, any thoughts or concerns? TIA.

I'd say if it's a good deal go for it. Might want to vacuum pack a portion for a way to keep fresh. I usually refill my carb bags in my canister that way. Usuually Salt you can pickup for about $60 in a 5 gal bucket. Carb's I would think would be slightly cheaper?

I buy all my products from a very trusted store here in socal. 3 of the guys that work at the shop run carbon 24/7 on their tanks at home and use the same brand. The little individual baggies you can buy are like 8 bucks, since I plan on changing my carbon once every 2 weeks that is going to cost close to 200 bucks a year. I think this bucket will last me up to 2 years on my 37 gal.
