anyone use this before

hey has anyone used this KENT MARINE organic adsorption resin does it help lower nitrates im gonna get a protein skimmer but cant afford it the lfs told me this is the poor mans protein skimmer does it work at all

look on Ebay for a skimmer...I got my ETSS reef devil 40 for 100 with pump and it doesnt even look used!!
you can get great deals on ebay if you research and know what u you. I personally wouldnt buy a no name brand from the lsf...I did before and it broke easy when I was hooking it up...the plexy glass they used was cheap and thin

Unfortunately, a skimmer isn't something you want to skimp on. A skimmer is one of the most, if not most, important part of your system. Start saving and buy a good one once. Many of us didn't have the money at first and bought a cheaper skimmer, but only to find out that it was in-efficient or broke down as pearson74 experienced. Stay away from a Prizm, they are cheap, but perform that way also.
Just do a few more water changes than normal, and wait until you can afford a good one.

how big is your tank?

i will buy a skimmer but thats not what i bought its like little crystals and you put it in a bag and put it in your filter my tank is a 35 gal will 25 lbs live rock and 40lbs or sand and 2 clowns and a blenny plus one crab
