Aquascaping with rock

I am cycling a 75 gal tank. I have 150 lb of base rock, and 20 lb of cultured lr. I have tried to stack the rock to create open spaces between the rock for water flow. Is there an easy way to test the flow in my tank to make sure there are no dead spots?
