Still ? Ouch... Sand still hasn't settled? If you're killin time you could drop a shrimp in there and watch the decay while you're waiting. The start of the cycle might help coagulate that sand some (big word eh?)

I still haven't been able to fire up the filtration, I though that is why the sand hasn't settled.

Once the bacteria take home the sand will.. well you know. Unless you have a fine pad somewhere (if I remember right you have a sump with no can or HOB) the fines will need to settle out somewhere. Running a can (yea Roka), HOD or a diatom filter (even temporarily) with a fine pad can help filter out the fines.

Another reason it may have been so cloudy is because I had just put in the BR and stirred the sand up, hoping to have the sump up this weekend sometime, and hopefully it will clear up then.
