Pretty much what it is you have a hole in the bottom of your aquarium for intake into your sump which is a smaller aquarium then you have a pump in that small aquarium were it returns the water back into the main aquarium usually made of PVC

Got ya ok well i dont know if ill do that setup yet maybee on the next tank i get but id really like to get the boxes to hide some of my components and paint the back

There are two people on here one is a guy named jwh and the second is Carey there on most the threads on this site you can msg them and they can tell you were to find it all . They really know there stuff and have Ben doing it for years.

Op here's a couple good articles on sumps. There is a 3 part article linked on the bottom that is by far the most informative I've ever read.

back ground

don't ruff up the glass, it will ruin the glass. you may get tired of a plain back ground or want to sell the tank later to upgrade to a larger one. can easly and gently remove with a straight razor or a window scraper. and to prepare the back before painting use rubbing alcohol, with a micro fiber cloth leaves no lint. then paint away, have fun
