A friend of mine lives on the water and around his dock under the water he has alot of (what looks like) live rock that would be good just for a base rock...the only problem I see is some of them have a few Barnacles and oysters. I was thinkin of removing them but will it be a bad thing in an aquarium to have them? dumb question but had to ask.

I have Barnacles in my tank, I also have some clams (not sure what kind), because I took my water, some live rock, and all my live sand from the ocean. I did not cure it, I just let it cycle my tank.

I will tell you that you might be seeing concrete, not live rock. Docks tend to have that kind of stuff around them. Its not that great to put in your tank.

yea and i know there are some clams out there, the kind that are dependent on light that filter out nitrates in your water.
