What brand and model refractometer would you suggest? I did pick up the API master test kit for salt water. I have read posts by many that they use it.

At what gallon size tank is a skimmer a must? Also what skimmer would you suggest for a 50-60 gallon tank with a 20 gal sump? The LFS does not have much variety, so I will be buying online.

Also - I have a 54 gallon tank and no skimmer - running great. My clowns are the messiest eaters, and the rest not so much, so that helps.
Reef Octopus is a very popular brand. NW-110, I think is the model for that size. Not sure. Sorry.
