why wouldn't it, there is media you can buy that will also help keep things stable, bio wheels are good, they act like a wet/dry trickle filter

no body ever said this hobby was easy, like everything it requires the right maintanence to help get the job done

Right, but nobody agrees what is the right way to do it.. :) frustrating

:p you could invest in a SKILTER which is a skimmer and a filter combo and from what i've heard are good. readign on the net would claim they are alright, but for a QT it would work

it all depends on whether you want the qt running all the time or not,how much LR,what size qt.If your going to use LR then you probably wont be able to put it back into the dt again without boiling it,if thats the case you may as well just keep the qt running with a few hermits and just keep feeding them,if you need to medicate anything in there just remove the hermits, btu leave them in there if your just qt'ing.

If the fish never need medication and do well, why can't u move the rock with the fish and shut the qt down. Only need to kill the live rock IF a fish gets sick in the tank with the LR?
