Biloxi white sand?

Does anyone know the compostion of the white sands of Biloxi Mississippi? I understand it is pumped in from beyond the barrier islands of the gulf. I was given about 80 lbs of the stuff and wondered about its suitability in a reef aquirium.

it's suitable, but it may not buffer the ph. if it's calcium based it will, and quartz based, it will not. either way, you can rinse it well and use it.
