Bio Load Helpers

Thanks everybody for your help with the Bio Load post. My next question is what type of critters to start with in terms of helping out the bio load. I'm under the impression that shrimps and snails are helpful. What are you guys using in your tanks? Which ones are good for beginners?

i have a ? for you what kind of fish are you wanting? passive or aggressive that makes a difference. if you go with aggressive chances are none of your helpful critters will survive.
