Okay, I saw a beautiful 72 g bowfront tank at a local petco. Fell in love with the tank(and stand) and was wondering what everyone thinks of bowfront tanks as i've never seen one set up. Any distortion because of the curve etc..?

I have a 155 bowfront. I love it. There is a little distortion if you press your nose up to the glass (as I'm known to do) and look sideways.

There is an odd effect where everything is slightly magnified. You wouldn't notice except corals placed in the middle of the tank look like they are quite a bit closer to the front. As a result, placing a coral directly under a bulb can't be done by looking through the front. You would need to look from the top. No big deal, just kinda odd.

I highly recommend the built in overflows.

my freind has a 46 bowfront, setup reef. It is absolutely awesome. If I ever buy a new tank again, Im sure it will be bowfront.

I love my 72 gallon bow front. I would suggest the built in overflow also.
