brown algea

is there anything that will eat brown algea. if there is i need it . or is there a way to get rid of it.

It is probably diatoms. If the algae is powder like when disturbed that is what you have. This is a normal occurance that will clear up on its own. Diatoms,unlike most nuisance algaes, are caused by silicates in the water column. Once the silicates are used up the brown will disappear. I added some turbo snails and hermits and they helped clear up mine.

Sounds like diatoms to me too. Have you tested for phosphate and silicates? It will go away once the nutrient is exhausted. Alternatively, try a phosphate/silicate sponge.
