Do you have cheato in your sump? IMHO I think it's one of the best ways to remove nitrates.

Nope. Only on my second tank, but never a hint of cyano. Nitrates are at 0 and phosphates are normally at 0 as well.

It's only a ten gallon tank so I don't have a sump

I just started to get this in my 20g nano. Cycle has finished and I have not added fish yet. I buy saltwater and ro water from my local saltwater store. No sump here either

Have you tested your magnesium sounds like it could be low
