I have just checked my water and for the first time ever...the parameters are perfect. I have noticed little bubbles within the first inch of my
SB. What are they from? Would it be a nitrogen buildup?

Yes,

The bubbles you see are the last product of your denitrification process and are free nitrogen. They will rise through the water column and disperse. Part of the gas exchange going on in your tank.

:D :) 8)
