Bubbles in the DSB?

Okay, I know I read this somewhere, but I forgot. I have hundreds of bubbles in the DSB (4 inches) against the glass (I'm sure they are all over, but I can only see what's touching the glass). Everytime some thing walks across the sand lots of bubbles rise up.
What are these bubbles? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's a good sign.
I am getting A LOT more bubbles since I added 2 Detrivore kits from Inland Aquatics. Does this mean those creatures are working or that the tank is just getting more stable?
 
Mike is right, the DSB is beginning to remove nitrate and produce nitrogen gas!! Very good sign
