Building a sump/refugium

Glass and silicon or course and some strips of wood 3/4" thick. Some people do 1" baffles but 3/4 works good. Some people say the first set of baffles are over kill but there's no micro bubbles what so ever. You know what I did at first was watched videos on U tube and then put my own twist in it.

I'm in Florida I don't use heaters if anything I'm looking into a cooler. The only equipment I'm running in my sump is my skimmer refugium light and return pump.

What size is your DY tank ?

Steve . What's are your measurements looks good would like to do basically the same? It's divided into three sections what do you do to them/put in them? Thanks

1. Figure out the footprint of your skimmer and heater. This will tell u how large to make the intake.
2. On the outside of one side map out your lines. This will be a guide to go off of. Going off the inside dimension
3. Cut some wood strips for bracing which will be clamped in temp. Use robo vise clamps and masking tape.
4. Now I moved rather fast but start at with the left panel and work your way over. I did multiple panels at once but you should take your time so there no leaks in the end.

Good luck with the build send me a private message if u have any more questions since I know I'm leaving out a lot of little details

My LFS deals in used stuff alot. If u do ask to see it work. eBay is good too bc if they say it works it has to. I just got$125 in koralia's for $52 and they work great. Try to pick up stuff for half the cost of new.

great job steve.. looks awesome..thanks for the help on mine and i will be picking your brain some more once i get some more parts for my sump.. (y)

So I think I got it all done. Gonna let it sit overnight so glue can dry and evaporate the fumes

Are your intake and return in the same section? Or, is the intake going to the skimmer and the skimmer is dumping in the return section? If the intake and return are in the same section, that wont make the flow go through the whole sump.
