In my 46 FOWLR tank I noticed that the coraline algae was not spreading and may have even been receding. My calcium has been in the 200's. I do weekly PWC with IO salt and can't explain why the calcium is low.

I bought a jar of Kalkwasser but was then advised not to use it until my levels were up.

I bought C-Balance (A&B) and have just started adding 2 teaspoons of each per day. Calcium after the first day was 270 mg/l. I added another dose today. How long should I continue adding this dosage? If calcium ever gets to 350 or so should I discontinue dosing the tank or just dose weekly?

For what its worth my alkalinity was 3-3.5 meq/l

Your calcium needs to be 400-450. I keep mine there by doing PWC with oceanic salt every week.

You may want to try a different test kit to verify that your calcium readings are correct.
