Can a HOT hang on top skimmer .. inserted inside the tank water ????

Can a HOT hang on top skimmer .. inserted inside the tank water instead putting outside .. cause my tank have a cover and i can't have a place from outside ??? (i got Rio nano skimmer )

I would check if the pump is submersible first. And then how would you hang it inside the tank?

i can hang it from inside it 's not the problem the main problem i dont know if the pump can be submerged or not ??? my pet store told me u can .. but i am not trust him
