canister filter with bio-wheel new 29 gallon any input

Would a Marineland HOT Pro System Magnum Canister Filter and Bio-Wheel Pro 30 filter system work for my 29 gollon
or should I go a different route
I have a book that says canister w/undergravel or canister w/fluidized bed filter would be good for fish only but i'm not totally sure

i am thinking about getting live rock but haven't decided yet if that will make a difference

any input would be good :?

IMO, you should look at getting like 20-40lb liverock (maybe liverocks.com?) and a powerhead that can do at least 400g/h like the aquaclear 802. That will serve as your biological filter (and probably much better at this than a canister) and circulation, and decor / hiding places. You can easily spend a few hundred $$ on value-less plastic decor which is why I just went with lr, its just the better alternative, for your fish as far as hiding, for your water quality, and for invertebretes its basically a must have too. You could do something like 20lbs liverock / 20 baserock and just cycle the tank with that, and add a cheap hob filter or canister for carbon filtration (mainly for the purpose of clear, fresh-smelling water). You won't need the biowheel pro as it offers no carbon filtration, just a penguin or emporer or similar hob would accomplish that.
