Just read that they aren't entirely reef safe. Will occasionally take bites out of snails, crustaceans. Won't eat your corals, but if you're wondering "where did my nerites go?" you'll know. Give it time and see what happens :P

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.

The more I'm reading the more I think I may have bought a monster in the making. I was reading on other forums about the horror stories of chunks of fish being missing from other inhabitants. Most people have thrown them into a fowlr and been done with it.

I know Mr X has experieince with these guys, I saw a post of his somewhere else from like 8 years ago. lol
SO I'm gonna start a thread on the red spotted sand perch and see what others have to say.

Well I keep seeing it saying a 5" max and I doubt it grows that fast. Gives you some time before it causes real problems :P

If I'm gonna have to fish him out I'd rather breakdown the cube than the 125g LOL. So I guess when he gets bigger I'll have to rehome him.

:-(

I had to remove a clownfish after it kept trying to eat my goby. Luckily it was easy to catch because it also tries to eat my finger

And I have a new addition to this tank. It was sold as a red striped sleeper goby but my research isn't confirming that.

Here's the picture...anyone know what else this guy may be called?

Can you bring it back because it is not what they said it was?

Also, is the piece that is "Broken" the clear part with the two clear pieces glued at an angle? If it is, it is not broken, you actually hang it on the side of the basket and over your compartment on the cube. They have a video of it on mediabaskets.com

I think I might take him back too, it would be easier to do now then later when you get attached to him. He does look pretty cool though.

Petco doesn't take back saltwater fish or any guarantee. :-(

i suppose I could bring him to another lfs but I haven't had much luck with them taking livestock for me. ie: the condy and the scooter

he is a really cool fish too. Very inquisitive, always moving around and looking at me. His eyes are like a lizard so he can move them, it's so neat looking.

So far he is eating everything I out in the tank, including flakes and he is getting along with the other fish.
