It's 1:30 in the morning and the fish are all accounted for. I'm just plain baffled by it all. Some of the symptoms are there for a few things, but not all match up. Most mention breathing issues, which none had, and going to the surface for air which none did.

Hopefully I'll know more in the am when I can see him properly.

And no poop issues with any of the dead or the current occupants. Nothing stringy or goooey or out of the ordinary.

All I have is a 10g taht can be qt'able right now, I havent picked up the 20g from my b/f's mom yet. The tang is actually quite big and the 10g is gonna stress him out for sure and unless I know what to dose him with I dont wanna put him through it.

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.

Did you test your water for metals? Not copper but other metals?

What other types of metals? I know there isnt any copper, I tested when I set it up. But I've never seen a test kit for "metal" lol

I would think that being she uses rodi water, the chances of it being metal related are slim to none.

Check with water company to see if they add metals to control their algae. Also is their any tests you can get for heavy metals like lead, aluminum and such? Maybe water company can test your water. And can u test for chloramine even though you use ro/di?

Just trying to help.

I'm still pretty sure that the rodi removes almost 100% of tds...that should include aluminum and the likes

I realize that. That's why I said even tho she has an ro/di. Its was a check to make sure none of her equip including ro/di and tds meter hasn't failed. Just trying to help.

That was my fault posted that before I really thought about it, I'm sorry, didn't mean to come across like that. I really hope her rodi isn't failing already

But Carey has several salt tanks and this is the only one that is exhibiting any signs of distress. These illnesses are limited to the 125, therefore external causes like heavy metals in her RODI water are not likely the cause or her smaller tanks would also be affected.

I understand. The water to be tested was tank water. Tds meters have been ruined in salt water so I didn't want her to use that to test her tank. The 125 one not all of them. I don't mean to come off rude. I just know from experiences on my job how when you have a failure something that seems or is supposed to be totally separate end up be in the picture. I'll shut up now.
