Caribbean blue hermit/snails

Hi everyone. I want to get opinions on this. I read to get hermit crabs and snails for algae. Will the hermit crabs attack the snails?

Yes they can. I`ve heard several people say they had that problem. IME as long as the snail stayed on the glass he was OK but when he fell off he was proned to be attacked.

Hermits will also kill snails if their shell looks nice and comfortable as a new home.

I have snails and hermits together and have not had a problem, just make sure you keep a sufficient amount of empty shells for the hermit to move into when it gets bigger, should be able to get shells from the LFS.

It might not be such a bad thing to have hermits that can 'clean up' fallen snails, especially when it's in places you can't reach or see yourself to turn them over.

I get my extra shells for the hobby store. the one here is called "Ben Franklin crafts". They sell shells of different sizes and shapes.
