Got the tank going about a week ago, put in the sand, live (mostly cured) rock.
Finally got it aquascaped yesterday & added more saltwater in today.

I only have a partial kit that came With the tank set up, I will need to get others to complete it I guess?
Anyway.
Salinity is 34
Ammonia is .25
Nitrites is 0
Nitrates are 10

It has been so long since I started a freshwater tank (this is my first salt) that I am a little hazy on the process.
If I have it correct... Ammonia turns into nitrites & they then turn into nitrates.
So I am looking for a spike first in my ammonia, correct?

Thanks in advance

Salinity should b between 1.024 and 1.026 is where I've had the best results your correct in your cycle though you should be looking for your ammonia to spike.

Sounds like you're on track, like ^ said, get your salinity down to 1.025 roughly and you'll be good. Your tank will spike Nitrates, trites, and Ammonia. Just monitor it for a week or two until it settles .

Thanks guys, I was reading the hydrometer the wrong way it should have been 1.025 ;)

I rechecked it today and it is very slightly above 1.024.

Will check them again tomorrow and see if there is any change.

Ammonia up to 1.0 :)
Still need to check the rest... But looks like we are on track ;)
