Clean Up Crew !

Hi everyone, as you can see, I'm currently undergoing a diatom bloom. The tank finished cycling 3.5 weeks ago. I currently have 2 Trochus Snails, 1 conch snail, & 2 blue legged hermits. The bloom is overwhelming the tank & I need some recommendations! The tank is a 40 gallon breeder + 20 long sump. Thanks for the suggestions!

Cerith snails destroyed diatoms in my tank. They are pretty cool too.

cerith and nerites I believe are the diatom eaters. But the diatoms should burn themselves out on their own.

Yeah I know they will eventually fade away, it's just my girlfriend is sick of them already! How many Nerites & Ceriths should I go with?

I'd say 5 of each. You dont want an army of them but one or two just wont do much.

That I am not sure on. I have not had any luck with them though. The one I had lasted a few weeks and then just died on me. :-(

I have a conch I believe, he has a large black foot. He does a lot of work on the sand!

I agree with all the above it's just the silicon in your water it Will burn itself out within a couple of weeks
