Cleaning powerheads

What is the best way to clean powerheads?

take it apart and soak it in a mix of vinagar and water

an hour, then use a stiff brissle toothbrush and scrub it a little bit

I usually just stick it in a bucket of freshwater ro water and vinegar and let it soak and run, then if I need to I will scrub it.
