Hey guys I have a friend who is cycling his 10 gal tank and his tank had gone really cloudy after he added half a raw shrimp the ammonia test turned blue what should I tell him to do he done a 30% pwc

Daryl, I personally think it should run its course...but ammonia that high might actually slow down the process he is trying to get going. Take it out and do the water change. Have him cut the shrimp in half to lessen the amount of shrimp decomping so there isn't as much ammonia. If there are chunks floating around in the cloudiness, use some panty hose, toss the shrimp in, tie it up, and continue business as usual.

Okay I will do that now he is coming around to mine in about an hour or so ill get him to buy some pantyhose and half the shrimp again should he run his skimmer now?

I usually suggest they run the skimmer during cycling to use it as the break in period.
