cloudy water

My son has removed his fish to a QT tank because of ICK. He read that you cannot use a charcoal filter while using copper because it nullifies the process.

His water is getting cloudy, there are three fish in the tank, what else can he do to clean up the tank while waiting the six weeks for the main tank to clear?

Feed less and frequent water changes. He needs to monitor the ammonia and nitrite levels in the Q-tank closely, it is very easy for them to get out of control.
