Cloudy water

I just recently did a water change and rinsed and changed some of the filer media.... and now the water is cloudy..... I'm guessing from an upset to the bacteria through my actions???? Is this correct..... anyway to avoid this in the future???

Check water parameters? If all it will most likely settle in the next couple of days.
