color temp for macro's

what color temp bulbs does macro algae have to have. i mean can i just get a 4700K bulb or what?

I am actually using like 3000k, well they are really yellow.

I would think that the rules would be the same, as they come from the same regions. 6700k and above... However, if you want to use what you have, and it isn't as high, use it. I think though that photosyntesis in the depths that the macro comes from will happen better with a higher kelvin bulb. Most of what I have seen are no lower than 6500K

the lower kelvin bulbs will grow more microalgae than macroalgae

I use a 100 watt grow light (flood style) the clamp on type from home depot. Cant stop the stuff from growing if my life depended on it
