Another silly question. Is the purple and white growth on my LR and even on my plastic fixtures in my tank what is referred to as coralline growth?

Also, I have several different species of coral (all in my profile) and of course a small variety of fish. How much water movement would be recommended for my 55g.

Follow-up. So far the algae problem is still in remission. Corals are holding their own at lower light levels. I am going to do a small water change Monday, and then will increase the light for 2 more hours. Keep your fingers Xed.

Howard

Yep, most likely.

You want your total water movemnt in the tank to e tank volume per hour or more. In my reef the water flow is closer to thirty times per hour.
