i have recently set up a rio 180 aquarium as fish only at the moment i have to original filter that comes with this tank plus an external aqua one cf 1000 filter running. no rock yet. i want to add live rock, but can i keep the filters running when i have added it. also what type of protein skimmer do people recomened for a 180l tank? it will need to be internal as i have no sump.

yes you can keep the filters running and have you checked into reef octopus skimmers everyone recommends them i have an imsump octopus works great

well its not really essential as long as you keep up with your weekly water changes but i would recommend you get one they do a great job of removing alot of waste
