Hey

I'm going to be curing dry rock in my tank (misses doesn't want a bin full of water in our new home) does it have to be salt water or can it just be RO water? Seems a shame to have to pour the salt water away after curing. Sorry, very new to this :-(

So, you are cycling a brand new tank? Just fill the tank up, put your rock and sand in, and cycle away. When your ammonia and nitrite levels hit 0, do large water change to bring the nitrate levels down.
When you do water changes, you are removing the water and the nitrate to prevent it from raising to deadly levels.
