Added today and did the drip method for 4hrs
1 Ocellaris Clownfish female
1 Three Stripe Damselfish
1 Blue Damselfish
3 mexi hermits
1 Serpent Sea Star

When I start my particial water changes and top offs do I use premixed ro/di water with instant ocean or straight water from my ro/di unit.

For pwc ro/di with salt mixed to the same sg/ph/temp/alk of the main tank.

For top off only ro/di water since salt doesn’t evaporate. If you top off with SW mix then you will increase your sg over time. If wanting to raise your sg then topping off with SW mix properly aged is a great way to do it though to get it to the level you want.

Is this overkill for my 55 galon tank ?

Watch those damsels, they tend to be very aggressive. I have a Blue Devil and 2 3stripe and others. The Blue Devil is a Devil. Be careful of future additions. I am taking mine back (or giving them away), in a month or so, to add other fish.
