Cycle tank?

I just got my salt water tank up with water in it last wensday amd had the water running in it for about a week now should I wait another week before I can throw in my for damsel for can I do it this week tank is 84 gallons I have live sand about 11 pounds of live rock if that helps any thanks!!

You can use raw shrimp to cycle instead of a damsel. You can throw two in and start your cycle. You shoould be getting an ammonia reading in a few days. BTW, you need a lot more rock; 1 to 1.5 lbs per gallon.

So will one more week cycling without a shrimp help any or should I just throw him in Yo get the ammonia up and running?

I would put the shrimp in now. I would also get more rock (live or dry) .

Ok so I'm going to get ten more pounds of live rock tomorrow and two shrimp and see how that goes from there thanks
