Hi guys :) just got a 60litre orca tank, and i need to know some alternative methods for cycling, iv heard of some using shrimp and one where you use a brackish water fish and let it die off then use it as a source of ammonia ?!? So any advice at this point is very useful :) thanks
Also for the experts, if i use live rock is it necessary to use live sand?

Well, i dont like cycling with fish. I would say either use pure ammonia or shrimp. Live rock can support the ammonia you are looking for, but not enough. I have yet to see a fully supported cycle from lr. They have always needed help getting over the hump.

So you'd recommend live sand aswell?
