How long does this eye sore last?

It's covering my LR, what is that going to do to my coraline algae? Is it really going to hurt anything? ie suffocate it

How long does this eye sore last?

Several weeks. After a tank cycles there is so many nutrients in the water that algae just can't say "no" to. When your tank does complete its cycle, I would invest in a good cleanup crew of a few different types of snails. That should help. Other than that, there is not much else you can do.

You do use RO/DI water, correct?

Don't worry too much about coralline algae right now. You still have more "garbage" algae blooms to go through. It will come back soon enough.
