Diatoms have taken over!
Day 12 of cycle with lr and 2 cups of live sand both from the same existing reef display tank at lfs.
Diatoms began almost exactly 24 hours into cycle. As of this morning, the brown stuff now covers the lr, as well as the sand, and everything in between. Water was tested on day 3 and tested perfect, so I'm told. No ammonia or nitrate. How long will the brown stuff last. This is getting ugly! |

hard to say. every tank is different.. It usually burns itsef out pretty quickly, a few weeks is all I had to deal with.
