Do any of you vacuum your shallow sand beds(1-2")? I've been reading conflicting tips stating you shouldn't need to if your flow is good or that you always should.

I'm coming from freshwater and I vacuum every week so I'm not against doing it... I just want to do whichever is best.

Thanks!

no you don't need to vacuum it. high flow is more for bare bottom tanks, with fine grain sand to much flow aimed at the bottom can blow sand around.

i personally have a blie legged hermit crabfour nassarius snails and two stars that kind of keep the sand bed pretty clean
