I'd put anything and everything in that you want cycled. Better to do it all at once I think

Just clean it up some. It will look fine. Or use it for the base of your rocks so you cant see it lol

It might take longer than a few days. You really want your ammonia to spike so that you have a good bioload available when you put your critters in.

true but i could never really now if my ammonia spiked before the test kit

It probably didnt in the few days you were running. Its better to be sure. You never used any ammonia or shrimp did you? Just the rock?

yea just the dieoff from the lr so right now i got all my stuff in the tank waiting for it to do its job

Yeah if it were me I'd definitely wait it out at least a week. I saw ammonia readings on my lr almost immediately but mine came right out of a established tank and was kept submerged on the drive home. I had to add ammonia though to get up to 4ppm.
