is it ok to feed a fresh water fish (like a gold fish) to a lion fish, trigger, or anemone for that matter?

No, freshwater fish are to fatty for your lionfish. It's OKay in a pinch, but long term it will kill your lionfish by destroying it's liver. Something to due with the fatty acids in freshwater foods.

While I don't have an anemone, I'd think that the best food would be something it'd normally eat - and freshwater fish just isn't on the menu. Silversides seems to be the standard food for anemones.

Kurts correct. Also whatever you feed, feed the whole thing. Head, fins, guts, the works and let the Anemone decide what to digest and what not to. Remember in the wild they live on average 200 years or more.
