feeding banggai cardinal

does anyone have a banggai cardinal if so what do you feed them i have 1 but i struggle to get him to eat i understand they are more active at night but no matter what i do he just doesn't go for anything so far have tried dropping new life spectrum sinking pellets right next to him but he just turns and swims the other way i've tried frozen and also flake with no luck unless he has been eating left overs of a night ?? please help
