Filtration advice

Do I need a fluval filter and a protein skimmer or can I just the skimmer on a 30 gallon tank

Running a 29 gallon with just sand and live rock as my filtration. So far it is going great and it is really cool to have a tank without filtration. Just keep a low fish count and have a good powerhead and all should be well.

Have a sleeper gold head goby a clarki, scooter blenny a fire face goby and a clean up crew with live rock and sand.
