ATO = automatic top off, it automatically adds fresh water to your tank so you don't have to worry about refilling it ever fee hrs due to evaporation

I know about the carbon, but it worked so great with the clearing up (less than 12hrs the water is now crystal clear) that I wanted to leave it for another day or two

Gone to buy a heater now, doubt my 20g thingy can handle 120g and maybe I can get some more LR rubble for the refugium

following along , I'm researching everything now to upgrade my 30g hexagon tank to a 125g wide tank in the future. Good info so far, i'll be reading and looking forward to see how yours comes along. BTW your tank looks great so far.

. I don't think it will make a measurable difference so if you would like to keep it, why not right? Oh and pics of how you set up the ATO please.
I really like the idea of an ro/di unit and the ATO but no clue how to do it on a rental house. Maybe sweety pie will let me kill any chance of getting the deposit back. Pics pics pics If you have the chance. Your tank build looks too good not to share.

Got back from my little shopping spree, will post pics with my additions while I'm adding them

Already got my ATO from when we went in vacation this year do saved at least a bit on money on that.

BTW does anybody know what ammonia to use? Ppl told me the Ace Hardware Janitor Ammonia would be best. Is this the one? Does not list any other ingredients

I have a mix of many different saltwater fish amongst my tanks, but I love my Tangs most of all.

I would take take stainless steel clamp

off and replace it with either a plastic clamp or a zip tie.The stainless steel one will eventually start rusting.

How much of the ammonia should I dose?!

I know the metal clamps aren't the best solution, but plastic kist didnt get it tight enough

Really? We use stainless at work for our saltboxes and don't really have any issues.
