My ammonia has finally started to drop. Its still very high but at least the test disk doesn't instantly change to the max. I've been running my lights(2x250MH) for about 4 hours a day as to minimize the algae growth. For the past few days I've noticed the Macro algaes are starting to .

My question is should I start to run the lights more and more? My thinking is that this would help to drop the Nitrates and also make harvesting the macros to put in the fuge easier.
