My tank is cycled and ready to go. It's a 60 gallon with 60 lbs. of LR and 40 lbs. of LS. I already have 6 snails in there but am ready to get my first fish. I'm gonna go with a yellow watchmen goby. My question is, do I need to QT my first fish? I have a 20 G ready to go if I need to but if it's the first one, do i bother QTing it?

Thanks,
Ben

It's a fair question. The general answer is it's always a good idea to QT a fish. If for no other reason, if there is problems with the fish and you opt to return it it's much easier to catch it out of a 20g QT tank than a DT full of hiding places.

All that being said, I didn't QT my first fish either.

id QT it ... just because its a goby and if you get second thoughts or a sick fish youll never catch it untill its upside down

I have lost half of my livestock before from not qt ing a fish. Get in the good habit of qt
