Aquarium Advice Freak
I am setting up a 55g fowlr for the first time. I added ro/di water and mixed the salt on Sunday. I later added 1 live rock that is about 10 lbs.
I have ordered the 50 lbs dry base rock from reefrocks.net.
I am running 2 sun sun hw302 canister filters rated at 265 gph. I also have a power head running in the tank currently. The temp is about 75f.
I am still in the setup stage and curing my rock. How much more actual live rock will I need to seed the rest?
Is this adequate filtration without a sump? I've heard 10x per hour.
Would you recommend a protein skimmer? Will it reduce the water changes if I add one?
